The Minneapolis Police Band is a community concert band, performing rousing marches, movie themes and toe-tapping favorite tunes. Bio: Founded in 1917, the award-winning Minneapolis Police Band carries on the tradition of police officers and citizens working together to represent the goodwill of the Minneapolis Police through music. Membership is open to active and retired police officers as well as civilians. The Minneapolis Police Band always welcomes new members. All instruments are welcome. Band members must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a background check. The band’s regular rehearsal night is Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Ave. S. Auditions are not required.
