  Describing itself as Balkan Party music, this Twin Cities sextet was created with the aim of playing Eastern European gypsy roots music often associated with Albania and the Ukraine. The ensemble is made up of fiddler Colleen Bertsch, bassist Liz Draper, guitarist Scott Keever, reed player Katrina Mundinger, vocalist Natalie Nowystski, and accordionist Eric Ray.

  Dan Newton's Cafe Accordion Orchestra celebrates National Accordion Awareness Month at Como Pavilion. CAO  play it's unique potpourri of Gypsy jazz, French Musette, classic American swing and Latin music as a part of Jazz Fest's accordion outpost stage. CAO features Dan "Daddy Squeeze" Newton on accordion, Robert Bell on guitar, Erik Lillestol on bass and Joe Steinger on percussion.   After several decades of playing traditional jazz around the Minneapolis/Saint Paul with the likes of Maud Hixson, Charmin Michelle and The Mouldy Figs, Denny Malmberg’s accordion has been featured on many a bandstand. A retired band director at Minneapolis South High, Malmberg was able to release his quartet recording Struttin’ Out upon retirement.
